I'm a winner!

Linda, over at "A Swap For All Seasons" had a drawing the other day and I won!
I have recently started following Linda's blog of decorated cards and tags to be inspired and get ideas for more uses of tatting. I have not actually made any cards or tags yet, but I hope to.  When she had her drawing I thought it couldn't hurt to enter and I got lucky!

Look at all the goodies she sent!

There is the 'fly' card and 'Dad' tag she made recently, dimensional stickers, washi tape, string, ribbon, lace, buttons, blank tags, background paper, a stamp and material, all in shades of black and grey.  Even the tissue paper they were all wrapped in! This is so cool!  Thank you, Linda!

We were on a family vacation when the package arrived though I had been told I'd won and knew it was coming.  It was nice to have such wonderful mail waiting for me when I got home!

Now I'm imagining how I can incorporate some tatting into decorating one of those tags she sent!

Gift from umintsuru

Tatted by umintsuru

Aren't these earrings gorgeous?  The picture doesn't do them justice at all!  Wendy has a much better picture over on her blog

These are my gift from Wendy for her Pay It Forward giveaway.  They are made with Lizbeth "Spring Fling" in size 80.   When I opened the envelope there were a lot of "oohs" and "awes" as we looked these over.  Thank you very much, Wendy, I love them!

Looking back over my blog posts I realized I hadn't posted what I gave for my PIF, inspired by Wendy's post last fall.  Medictabs,Robert and Suztats were the first three people to leave a message on my blogpost and were the winners.  When I decided to do it I didn't have even a small clue of what I was going to send them, so it took a little while to get them done.  But they finally were sent off.

I've always wanted to do some Crazy Quilting - but I don't quilt and rarely embroider, so it hasn't happened yet :)  Instead I did a little "CQing" on Altoid tins for their gifts.

I added a few things on the inside.  Each was different inside and outside, but similar.

The pink heart is a needle threader. The "match book" is a needleholder.  Each one also got a decorated shuttle that coordinated with their thin, and a ball of J &  P Coats size 80 tatting thread - it all fit inside the tin.

This was a lot of fun to do.  And really nice to win Wendy's PIF.  Thanks again, Wendy :-)

Thank you very much to all who entered. I enjoyed reading your comments and I really appreciate all of you who entered. It has been a fun three years. Country Fair Results and...Aliens?

I entered two tatted items in the local county fair, my Antique Motif Doily and a Heart's Honor bookmark. I was so excited about the results of the doily I completely forgot to take a picture of the bookmark! I was the only one that entered tatting but it's in the crochet class, so that means I won grand champion over any crochet that was entered as well. I'm just a little happy about it *bouncing up and down*. My bookmark got a blue (1st place), so I'm pretty happy about that, too. Just because you are the only entry in a category it doesn't mean they have to give you a ribbon if they don't think an item is done well enough. It still would be nice to have more tatting there.

I also entered a picture in the photography class for the first time ever. There are a lot of people who enter their pictures so the competition is tougher, but this one turned out so well I thought "why not?" It is a picture of the grandsons, taken this July.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a third place on it.

I've been playing around with this little motif, trying several different things. I did a split chain on it and realized I haven't used it hardly at all, so am not very proficient with it. I also tried adding some beads, which meant I had to change the stitch count, which in turn made it look different yet. I showed it to my husband, who commented that it looked like a spaceship.

Hmmm, I can see that...

I enjoyed a glass of sweet, iced Vanilla Rooibos tea this morning, though not while I was tatting. I did get a bit of that in, too, just a little later.

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Tatting Tea Tuesday.

And the winner is.....

Okay, you've waited a-l-l day with bated breath to see who won my giveaway.

You've waited.

And waited.

And waited some more.

You may have thought I had forgotten.

You may have wondered if maybe the site had problems and didn't update.

Well, wonder no more.

The wait is over.

You can breathe now, the winner has been chosen.

I gave the name of each person who entered a number.  I used a random number generator to choose one number.

And the winner is.....

(Would you like to know what took so long?  It was a long day where things didn't go quite as planned.  I meant to do this first thing, but then....)

Oh, all right already!

I'll tell you who won!

The winner is
Trayna!

Congratulations, Tayna!  You have won a wonderful box of goodies from me!

Thank you everyone that entered.  I've had a lot of fun trying to figure out what the prize was going to be.  I'm hoping Trayna enjoys getting it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

As this is so late I'm not sure I'm going to be posting tomorrow for Tatting Tea Tuesday.  It's going to be another very busy day.  But I plan on having at least one cup of tea, tatting for at least a few minutes (it will probably be in the car!) and maybe have a little chocolate. I envite all of you to join me tomorrow for a little communi-tea and do a little tatting of your own and take a minute for yourself with a cup of tea (or coffee, or hot chocolate, or hot apple cider, or coke or pepsi - okay, the beverage of your choice!)

Happy Tatting everyone!
